Following publication of the Short Communication by Essex MN, Cheung R, Li C and Li X titled ‘Safety of parecoxib when used for more than 3 days for the management of postoperative pain’, which appeared in the September 2017 issue of Pain Management (7[5], 383–389 [2017]; doi: 10.2217/pmt-2017-0017), it has been brought to our attention that the following sections were published incorrectly. Below are the corrected versions.

The last bullet point in the ‘Treatment details’ column of Table 1 has been corrected as follows:

The first sentence of the final paragraph in the Discussion section has been corrected as follows:

All patients in our analysis received at least 40 mg of parecoxib on the day of surgery, followed by 20 or 40 mg intravenous or intramuscular doses in the subsequent days.
