Correction to: Demographic and socioeconomic correlates of powder cocaine and crack use among high school seniors in the United States

This article refers to:
Demographic and socioeconomic correlates of powder cocaine and crack use among high school seniors in the United States

The authors would like to make the following corrections to their above titled paper published in The American Journal of Drug and Alcohol Abuse, Vol. 40, Issue 1.

The authors regret to report a systematic error in the unadjusted odds ratios (ORs) and 99% confidence intervals (CIs) for some of the variables in . is now reprinted here with correct ORs and 99% CIs for race, religiosity, family structure, parent education, and weekly income from job and from other sources. This error did not affect overall study results or conclusions which are driven by the adjusted ORs.

Table 2. Demographic and economic variables explaining lifetime powder cocaine and crack use.

On Page 39, the end of the second paragraph of Results, the sentence should read, “Hispanics were not at increased odds for powder cocaine use, but Hispanics were consistently at increased odds for crack use.” The last sentence in paragraph 3 of Results, the sentence should read, “Moderate religiosity and residing with one parent also lowered the odds of use of each drug, but the associations of high religiosity and residing with two parents were stronger.” The second sentence of paragraph 4 should read, “With respect to student income, earning $51 or more per week from a job consistently and robustly increased the odds of use of both forms of the drug.” On page 41, the last line of paragraph 3 of Discussion should be deleted: “Higher odds of powder cocaine use among Hispanics disappeared once we controlled for demographic and SES covariates.”
