Pharmaceutical Development and Technology over the past three years has experienced an unprecedented increase in manuscripts submitted, accepted, and rejected. While our reject rate has averaged 72% over these years, we still have received and accepted a high number of quality manuscripts such that we have seen an unfortunate increase in the lag time between manuscript acceptance and print publication. While manuscripts appear on-line (http://informahealthcare.com/phd) within weeks after acceptance, print publication of these manuscripts takes much, much longer. We realize that this is unacceptable so in 2013 we will play catch up. Not only will we increase the page number of each issue significantly, but also some of our six issues of 2013 will contain papers under a common theme. For example the first issue of 2013 will have the theme of “Pharmaceutical Process Research and Technology”. Subsequent issues may have other themes such as “Conventional Formulation Development”, “Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology”, and “Polymeric Formulation Research”. We hope these themed issues will serve our readership better and increase citations and downloads of our publications.
