Necrophilia, mon amourFootnote11 “Necrophilia mon amour” es el título de un influyente artículo publicado por Joseph Kosuth en 1986. En él la condena al “retorno a la pintura” y la progresiva importancia del mercado como prioritario criterio de legitimación de la obra de arte son simultáneos. En ese contexto, el discurso en torno a la “muerte” (o más bien la interminable agonía) de la pintura resulta estrategia privilegiada para rescatar del mercado el discurso sobre el sentido del arte (Kosuth Citation1982). Ese discurso se renueva en torno a estrategias de desmaterialización en el entorno del arte conceptual y una simultánea reflexión sobre el fin del modernismo en forma de “moribundia”.
