Pedro Aires Oliveira teaches at Universidade Nova de Lisboa and is a member of its Institute of Contemporary History. He is the author of Os Despojos da Aliança. A Grã-Bretanha e a Questão Colonial Portuguesa, 1945–75 (Tinta da China, 2007) and is currently researching Portugal's involvement in Rhodesia's independence.
