Aboriginals in Australian literature: A bibliographyFootnote∗This bibliography is the first of three pieces to appear in WLWE treating Australian Aboriginal literature. In an unarticle to follow in the next issue (Vol. 17, No. 1—April 1978) I will focus on Aboriginal poets in English: Kath Walker, Jack Davis, and Kevin Gilbert. In the issue after that (Vol. 17, No. 2—Nov. 1978) I will consider how the literary models of the Aboriginal poets affected their poetic form and technique, attempt some estimate of their achievement, and look at the important question of how white Australians have received the Aboriginal poets into a tradition that before 1964 was wholly their province.
