Mark HengererMark Hengerer was born in 1971 in Neustadt, Schleswig- Holstein, Germany and studied History, Latin and Philosophy at the Universities of Vienna and Münster. Since 1996 he has been employed as a research and teaching assistant for the Chair of Early Modern History (Professor Dr Rudolf Schlögl) in the Faculty of History and Sociology of the University of Konstanz, Germany. He is currently completing a Ph.D. on noble integration at the Habsburg Imperial Court (mid-17th century). Mr Hengerer is also a member of the Special Research Unit 485 ‘Norm and Symbol. The Cultural Dimension of Social and Political Integration’ at the University of Konstanz http://www.uni-konstanz.de/FuF/sfb485/ and is preparing a book about the symbolic and political dimension of noble burials and graves in Vienna in the early modern period.
