If the projections had been horizontal rather than oblique, as Naylor supposes, the central roll to 451 punti implies that Galileo and Naylor both made a large error in the same direction, or that Galileo's measurements were innacurate by as much as ± 7 punti. Naylor's failure to state size of ball or acceleration loss prevents precise determination. In any case it is improbable that had Galileo wished to test rolls in the ratios 1, 3, 5, 7 …he would not have adopted a practicable initial roll, as Naylor contends.
