  • Riquer and Comas are, in my view, right to say that Blanquerna's public activity was undertaken ‘per esperit d'obediència i submissió als designis divins’, but mistaken in asserting that ‘aquest propòsit i aquesta vocació es torceren quan es va veure obligat a ésser monjo i després a acceptar la dignitat episcopal i finalment la pontifícia’ (op. cit., 285).
