Nawaz's report was discussed by Godfrey and the Naval Staff on 20 Dec. 1945. The RIN obtained the food for its greatly expanded manpower via the established supply system of the Indian Army Service Corps, but undoubtedly there were problems in the aftermath of the Great Famine. The conference decided to supplement this with independent purchase of truckloads of rice and other emergency measures, but clearly not enough had been done in time (RIN, 215–16; WSP, L/WS/1/1040,22 telegram of 26 Feb. with comments on the mutineers' complaints)
