- Nickel-aluminum alloy (50%Ni-50%Al) from several chemical companies has been used. The best results, however, were obtained using Fluka or Aldrich products. Reaction has been followed by TLC-silica gel, chloroform:methanol = 8:2 v/v. If the reaction was not completed after 10–12 hours, additional amount of nickel-aluminum alloy has been added to the reaction mixture.
