- The respondents perceiving freedom to exchange information were not traceable to any particular part of their organization. They were, however, significantly different from the other respondents in age (two years younger), experience (two years less), supervisory experience (three years less), and in span of control (two employees less). All differences were found to be significant at the .05 level using a t‐test for differences between two means.
