Telling Lies and then Hoping to Forget all about History

  • The recent report of areview committee appointed by Minister of Education, Kader Asmal, has pointed to many of the overt defects in Curriculum 2005 particularly its bureaucratic jargon, and has also recommended that more attention be paid to History as a key area of the Human and Social Sciences: Report of the Review Commitee on Curriculum 2005: A South African Curriculum for the Twenty First Century, Pretoria, 31 May 2000.
