The study was presented as a PhD in Communication Pathology in the Centre for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (CAAC) of the University of Pretoria, Pretoria, South Africa, by Glenn Goldblum under the guidance of the second author, Professor Erna Alant. In addition, the authors would like to thank the individuals with a TBI, as well as the management and sales assistants from the participating supermarket chain for their collaboration throughout the research project on which this article is based.
