  • Jones , Charles C. 1878 . The dead towns of Georgia 232 Savannah Browne was not the first to hit upon this scheme. Georgia governor James Wright ordered a town laid out near the juncture of the Broad and Savannah rivers which he named Dartmouth. Wright to Dartmouth, December 27, 1773. P.R.O. C.O.5/ 663; pp.75–77.
