The ones by the latter are particularly difficult to obtain, since the publisher, the municipal water authority of Istanbul, does not sell them.

- A union catalogue of manuscripts in the libraries of Turkey (Türkiye Yazmalari Toplu Kataloğu or TÜYATOK) is in preparation. Two or three volumes appear each year and each has to be scanned for any mention of a map. Once this ambitious project is completed, next century, one hopes a comprehensive index will appear and that it will include a subject heading for maps ('haritalar').
