  • Other workers (see note 5 above) have used Raman microscopy to investigate pigments on painted manuscripits in situ. It is hoped that a facility might be developed in the University of Northumbria to enable larger works on paper, such as watercolours, to be investigated in this way. However, such a facility was not available for this work.
