REVEALING VAN GOGH: AN EXAMINATION OF HIS PAPERS

  • Accurate identifications are sometimes difficult to make by visual examination alone, because Van Gogh used a variety of inks and chalks in combination, some of which were not traditional drawing media for the period. The Central Laboratory in Amsterdam carried out some research on recognizing Van Gogh's drawing materials. It is hoped that this important research will be continued in future
