  • Equipment purchased included: computers . in situ a digital camera, stereo-microscope, analytical instruments such as a pH meter, photo spectrometer, infra-red camera. Movable benches were constructed with washable worktops that can be set together to make a large working area. We also purchased sinks with adjustable temperature for wet treatments, various types of low-pressure vacuum tables, large tables for resizing and de-acidification, vacuum points for paper repair, suction wedges for text-block repairs to bound material. Finally, we acquired a fume cupboard, laboratory and bindery equipment, such as presses, sewing frames, finishing tools
  • From November 2002 to February 2003, I worked on the conservation of this inclinable (Prague, Municipal Library, H 417), printed in Prague in 1488 by Jan Kamp in the so-called Prague Severin's printing workshop. This book is the first non-illustrated printed bible in Czech or Slavonic. This exemplar has blue and red initials and rubrication in yellow pigment. There are 72 known copies, 19 in Prague. I am grateful to Jiří Vnouček, former Head of Conservation of the National Library for supervising this conservation work
