In our optical microscopic studies we observed that on melting the substance shows a highly viscous phase with a texture similar to the D h phase which at a higher temperature undergoes another transition to the isotropic phase. However, simple “coverslip shear test” leads us to conclude that this intermediate phase is probably be a more ordered phase than even the plastic D phase of H4TP
