• We have assigned to this Co(II) complex the D3h trigonal-bypiramidal geometry analogously to [CoCl(Me6tren)]+ Cl−32, [Co(tpn)Br]+ Br− (tpn=(NH2CH2CH2CH2)3N) 33, [ZnCl(tren)]+ Cl−.3H2O 31 and [ZnCl(tren)]+ [B(C6H5)4]−34. Moreover, the close similarity among the electronic spectra of the [Co(Me6tren)]+ complex ion and those of Co(II)-tren complex in aqueous solution support further this assumption 32
