- Genaro Ky Ly Smith was born in Nha Trang, Vietnam in 1968. In February of 1972, his family settled in Los Angeles. Genaro Ky Ly Smith received his B.A. in English from California State University, Northridge in 1993. He earned his M.A. and M.F.A. degrees in 1999 at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana where he studied under Pulitzer Prize-winning author Robert Olen Butler. His work has appeared in dis-orient, The Shooting Star Review, The Northridge Review, Scene, and Amerasia Journal.
