- , The Multitrack Abstinence Program operates under contract to the New York City Addiction Services Agency. It is one of several programs established by A.S.A. to test the “methadone-to-abstinence” approach to treatment. It differs from the other programs coming under this rubric in that, in addition to methadone, it utilizes naltrexone. One of the purposes of the program, within the general approach, is to compare the effectiveness of the different chemotherapeutic modalities
