Domestic and family violence: Innovative social work practice, policy and research responses
Domestic and family violence constitutes pervasive, damaging and abusive criminal behaviour, often with life-threatening and sometimes fatal outcomes for women and children. Gender-based violence against women is widespread and is an ongoing, severe threat to the safety, freedom, health, mental health and wellbeing of women, children, families, and communities. For many social workers, domestic and family violence is a key policy, practice and research domain. Authors in this Collection detail innovation, research inquiries and practice and policy interventions, and call for increased expertise for culturally- informed responses and transformative outcomes for women, children, families and communities.
