Practicing Anthropology hosts expansive content on the practice of anthropology in the world. With a global community of authors and readers, Practicing Anthropology content highlights the usefulness of active research at all stages of life and career through accessible, quick-to-read content. Content includes knowledge sharing and solutions for working in transdisciplinary, global networks alongside creative first-person reflections, poetry, and art related to the social sciences in practice. Practicing Anthropology welcomes questions and discussions, encourages partnerships and mentorship in publishing, and strives to create transparent policies and communication. We publish in multiple languages and welcome contributions from a wide range of authors with varying levels of experience and ideas.

Society for Applied Anthropology

The Society for Applied Anthropology (SfAA) was founded in 1941 to promote the investigation of the principles of human behavior and the application of these principles to contemporary issues and problems. The Society is unique among professional associations in membership and purpose – and in representing the interests of professionals in a wide range of settings including academia, business, law, public health, medicine, environment, and government. The unifying factor is a commitment to making an impact on the quality of life in the world.

The Society publish two journals, Human Organization and Practicing Anthropology, that advance, synthesize, and interpret the application of anthropological method and theory to the analysis and solution of practical problems in the contemporary world.

Members of SfAA are eligible to receive print copies and/or online access to the Society’s Journals, Human Organization and Practicing Anthropology, and online newsletter, SfAA News. The annual meeting provides an essential forum for analysing current issues and sharing experiences, whilst the committee activities and special interest groups encourage vital contacts with other professionals.
