About this journal

Aims and scope

This title has ceased (2018).

Journal of Organic Semiconductors is a multi-disciplinary Open Access journal whose focus is the science and technology of organic semiconducting materials. The journal publishes original articles on all aspects of organic semiconducting materials, including molecular design and synthesis, processing, optoelectronic properties of organic materials, thin film growth, and characterisation and electronic applications of organic semiconductors.

Research Areas include:

  • Optical, electrical, morphological characterization techniques and parameter extraction
  • Applications of organic electronics, including theory and device design
  • Fabrication of organic semiconductor devices such as organic light emitting diodes, thin film transistors, photovoltaic cells, and metal/semiconductor diode sensors
  • Nanoscale electronic and optoelectronic devices, sensors, and alternative electronic materials

Experimental, theoretical and application papers on the chemistry, physics and engineering of these materials are encouraged for submission. All contributions are rigorously refereed and selected on the quality and originality of the work as well as the breadth of interest to readers. Articles published in the journal are of interest to chemists, physicists, materials scientists and device engineers concerned with organic materials, devices and phenomena.

Open Access

All articles published in this open access, peer-reviewed journal are permanently available online immediately on publication to anyone, anywhere, at any time. Further information about Taylor & Francis open access can be found here.

Peer Review Policy

All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor. If found suitable for further consideration, papers are subject to peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. Open access

Journal of Organic Semiconductors is an open access journal and only publishes open access articles. Publishing open access means that your article will be free to access online immediately on publication, increasing the visibility, readership, and impact of your research.

Why choose open access?

  1. Increase the discoverability and readership of your article
  2. Make an impact and reach new readers, not just those with easy access to a research library
  3. Freely share your work with anyone, anywhere
  4. Comply with funding mandates and meet the requirements of your institution, employer or funder
  5. Rigorous peer review for every open access article

Article Publishing Charges (APC)

To publish open access in this journal you may be asked to pay an Article Publishing Charge (APC). You may be able to publish your article at no cost to yourself or with a reduced APC if your institution or research funder has an open access agreement or membership with Taylor & Francis.
