Virtual Issue on the SICE Annual Conference 2022
The Society of Instrument and Control Engineers (SICE) hosts its annual international conference encompassing various topics from measurement and control to system analysis and design, theory to application, and software to hardware. In 2022, the SICE Annual Conference was conducted in a hybrid format from September 6th to 9th in Kumamoto, Japan. The conference's technical program included 3 plenary talks, 1 tutorial session, and 2 workshops, along with a variety of organized and regular sessions. There were 289 presentations from 8 countries including Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea, Germany, India, China, and Canada. This rich diversity of perspectives contributed to the conference's resounding success, attracting 496 participants.
The virtual issue of SICE JCMSI aims to gather and disseminate high-quality research on extended results presented as regular papers at the SICE Annual Conference 2022 and also offers enhanced expositions of position papers. As a result, 23 papers were submitted to the virtual issue. The research fields encompass measurement, control, system integration, system and information, industrial applications, and life engineering. Highlighting the issue's diversity, it features an invited paper providing a foundational tutorial on reinforcement learning. This virtual issue not only reflects the current state of research but also serves as an inspiration for future advancements in the diverse fields of the SICE.
