Journal overview

The New Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics (NZJGG) is an international journal publishing original scientific papers on all aspects of geoscience. We welcome high-quality submissions from around the world that will make an impact on Earth science research relevant to the Pacific Rim, Southern Ocean and Antarctica. We strongly support early-career researchers. The journal publishes original research papers, review articles and short communications, and regularly assembles topical Special Issues. In addition:

  • Eligible authors, from institutions participating in a Read & Publish agreement with Taylor & Francis, can publish Open Access in NZJGG without the need to pay an article publishing charge (APC).
  • No page charges for publication under the subscription model
  • Free colour printing
  • Articles published online before quarterly print publication.
  • All NZJGG articles are freely available to all readers three years after the close of each annual volume.
  • Members of the Geoscience Society of New Zealand are entitled to online access to NZJGG as a benefit of membership.

Peer review policy
All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and single-anonymized refereeing.
