About this journal

Aims and scope

Baylor University Medical Center Proceedings is a subscription-based, peer-reviewed general medical journal that presents clinical articles of interest to practitioners. The journal is published by Taylor & Francis and owned by Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest not-for-profit health care system in Texas and one of the largest in the United States. Baylor Scott & White Health is committed to innovation, collaboration, integrity, and compassion for the patient, and the journal attempts to highlight these values. Submissions from outside of the health care system are welcome.

Baylor University Medical Center Proceedings contains a mixture of articles and features, including original research, clinician’s corner (case reports in a specific format), review articles, historical studies, editorials, letters to the editor, commentaries, and book reviews. While articles that focus on a single specialty are accepted, articles that appeal to a wide range of practicing physicians are particularly desired. All articles will be subject to single-anonymous peer review.

Proceedings is particularly interested in manuscripts on the following topics:

• Clinical outcomes studies
• Population health studies
• Community-delivered health care
• Implementation science
• Health care quality
• Health care delivery science
• Value-based health care
• Professionalism

Only five Clinician’s Corner features (cases) and five reviews are published each issue. Reviews should be systematic reviews and meta-analyses of clearly stated questions; traditional narrative reviews are no longer considered. Reviews should follow the PRISMA guidelines.
