Exploring the Influence of Oral, Gut, and Vaginal Microbiota on Women's Health
The human microbiome significantly influences women's health by impacting reproductive and immune functions through the oral, gut, and vaginal microbiotas. Disruptions in these microbial communities can result in various health issues, such as hormonal imbalances and infections. This collection of papers aims to understand the mechanisms by which these microbiotas affect women's health and to develop interventions to promote a healthy microbiome. By characterizing the microbiomes of women in different health states and investigating microbial cross-talk across organ sites, this collection seeks to enhance disease prevention and improve overall women's health outcomes.
