Michael Slavkin

Michael Slavkin is an assistant professor of education in the Department of Teacher Education at the University of Southern Indiana. His interest in gender identity and its impact on reading and writing stems from his research on the implications of educational psychology on more effective teaching at the primary and secondary levels. Other research areas include the relationship between gender identity and self-esteem, and use of service learning with at-risk populations.
