This article has been retracted: please see Future Science Group’s Policy on retractions (www.tandfonline.com/authorguide/editorialpolicies).

The following Research Article has been retracted from Epigenomics to avoid misleading the scientific community, until further work can be done to elucidate this mechanism:

Zhou J, Zhou H, Liu Y, Liu C. Inhibition of CTCF-regulated miRNA-185-5p mitigates renal interstitial fibrosis of chronic kidney disease. Epigenomics. 13(11), 859–873 (2021).

Further experimentation has led the authors to believe that the findings of the original study are flawed. The original paper asserted that overexpression of CTCF causes a decrease in mir-185-5p, however the authors have now found that underexpression of CTCF fails to have the expected opposite expression trend on mir-185-5p. The authors have therefore requested the retraction of the original paper.

The authors and editors of Epigenomics regret any negative consequences this publication might have caused in the scientific and medical communities.
