Enabling conditions for smallholder, women and youth participation in Sustainable Agricultural Intensification in Africa
To conclude the UK Aid - DFID funded programme Sustainable Intensification Research and Learning in Africa (SAIRLA: https://sairla-africa.org/) a Special Issue of the International Journal of Agricultural Sustainability was published on "Enabling conditions for smallholder, women and youth participation in Sustainable Agricultural Intensification in Africa" containing 17 Open Access papers from research funded by SAIRLA divided over three sub-themes: equity, trade-offs and services. The SAIRLA programme and Special Issue was coordinated by the Natural Resources Institute (NRI), University of Greenwich, with papers contributed by researchers from international institutes, universities and development organizations (e.g., Bioversity International, IITA, ILRI, CABI, World Agroforestry Centre, IIED, OPM, SEI, Lund Univ., Michigan State Univ., Taylor Univ.) together with national researchers from Burkina Faso, Ghana, Ethiopia, Malawi, Tanzania and Zambia. The Sustainable Intensification Research and Learning in Africa (SAIRLA) programme was funded by UK Aid from UK Department for International Development under grant reference PO6921.
