IRSPM symposium
IRSPM has been the first and now, most prominent, international conference on public management. Since 2006, scholars from all corners of the world have been travelling to one rotating IRSPM location every year. Our 2021 conference was online but proved to be as popular as our in-person conferences, with 650+ participants in several vibrant panels. Over the years, IRSPM panels started clustering around 10 special interest groups (SIGs), but as diversity has always been our strength, other panels, both recurrent and unique to each annual conference, also found their way into the conference programme, totalling 30-50 panels every year. Many of the papers presented at the conference find a home in PMR - the journal most closely associated with IRSPM.
In this symposium, we celebrate the community of scholars who have made IRSPM and PMR leading outlets for their work, by bringing together PMR articles that have been presented at IRSPM. The papers in this symposium accurately represent the IRSPM membership, with most members in Europe, followed by Australia and the Americas. We are committed to bringing more of our Asian colleagues to IRSPM and more of our African colleagues into PMR. We dedicate this virtual symposium to these colleagues, to new researchers and to policy and practice partners. These are our friends and our allies in taking public management research to new heights.
