Artificial Intelligence for Additive Manufacturing

Additive manufacturing (AM) is inherently compatible to be integrated with artificial intelligence (AI) due to its digital nature, from the pre-process to the 3D printing process and then the post-processing. AI comprises of many aspects such as neural networks, machine vision and machine automation.

In this Topical Article Collection, state-of-the-art reviews and current research results which focus on using AI for AM will be reported. These include, but not limited to, computer vision for in-process monitoring systems, feedback control in 3D printing and process optimization for AM and related post-processing.
