Spintronics / Magnetic Materials
Magnetic and spintronic materials are ubiquitous in modern technological applications, e.g. in electric motors, power generators, mobile phone, sensors and actuators, not to mention information storage and processing. Improvements in the properties of these materials will have a significant impact on human society by enabling high energy efficiency, fast response time, and large miniaturization. The elucidation of their functional mechanisms and the establishment of new principles may also open up new fields of application. This special collection presents recent STAM articles not only on magnet and/or device materials, but also on integration, processing and fundamental research.
