A change is gonna come. Research and perspective in celebration of the 2022 Annual Meeting of the Ecological Society of America
The 2022 Annual Meeting of the Ecological Society of America (ESA) focuses on a variety of topics that are central to the scope of Ecosystems and People. This article collection is specifically tailored to those attending the meeting, and hopefully many will be able to join in person to (re)connect with colleagues. All articles in this collection address human-nature relationships and social-ecological systems in a broad sense. Important more specific themes that connect the 14 included papers include futures, transformative change, restoration, governance, and multiple values of nature (including symbolic, relational, cultural and social). The collection includes research, review and perspective papers, many of which co-authored by authors from the Americas or featuring research from regions of interest to ESA / CSEE. In addition, many papers feature (participatory) spatial assessments. Marta Berbés-Blázquez, co-Editor in Chief of Ecosystems and People will be present throughout the meeting, and she will also have a booth (#25) during the Exhibit. Feel free to get in touch during the event, in person or via the contact details as listed on the Editorial Board page. The 2022 Annual ESA meeting is organised in collaboration with the Canadian Society for Ecology and Evolution (CSEE).
